This winery is owned by the Cusumano winery and grapes are grown and harvested on the slopes of an active volcano, Mt. Etna, in Sicily. The volcano stands at 11,000ft with vines planted up to 4,000ft. The name Alta Mora translates to "Tall Black" representing the great heights of the vineyards on the mountain and the dark black volcanic soils. It has been a lifelong dream for the Cusumano brothers to build a winery among these fertile and dynamic soils.
Manual harvest in cases, light pressing and destemming, maceration at 82°F for 18-21 days. Malolactic fermentation in wood, successive fining in barrels of 25hl and tonneaux.

Berry, Baking Spice, Earth, Red Fruit
A deep aroma of ripe red fruit and notes of underbrush and earth, berries and cardamom.
The mouthfeel is warm and very bold with a wrapping finish of sweet spice and balsamic notes. An elegant wine yet progressive and very persistent.
