Established in 1978, the Rose family estate vineyards are situated on the banks of the Wairau River (pronounced “why-row”). Pioneers in the Marlborough region, the Rose family selected vineyard sites along the banks of the Wairau River to grow their grapes. This river provides the wines with a distinct sense of place and the river’s stratification is the inspiration for the new label design across all the brand’s varietals.
Grapes were harvested in the cool hours of the morning to retain vibrancy and focus. Gentle destemming was followed by cold maceration pre-fermentation, with gentle hand plunging to extract color and tannins. The skins gently basket pressed with the wine matured in French Oak barriques.
