Overview
Gnarly Dudes is named for the gnarly old Shiraz vines that year after year grow a crop beautiful fruit that is tamed and put in bottle. The "Dude" from the Cohen Brother's movie The Big Lebowski was also an inspiration.
Aging
Matured for 12 months in French Oak, which was 13% new, and the remainder in one to six year old puncheons and hogsheads.

Powerful, Rich
Aroma
The aromatics are lifted and very intense, notes of bay leaf, dark berries, licorice, cassis, and violet and plum slowly emerge.
Taste
The palate is rich, powerful, and penetrating. The wine sling-shots a mouthful of flavor across your tongue and you are left with many layers of spicy, and dark fruit. The tannins are fruitful but with a nervy persistence.
